At Jelly Bloom Events, we strive to create unforgettable experiences that bring youth together. Our goal is to support TIGNC youth, their families and young adults. We strive to make a positive impact in our community through thoughtfully planned events to promote joy, connections, educational opportunities and community.
Founded in 2025, Jelly Bloom Events has just begun our journey. We recognize the need for our TIGNC youth to have safe spaces and supportive people in their lives. Our organization was established to address the growing need for TIGNC youth and young adults to help them survive and thrive.
We create safe events to promote joy, connections, educational opportunities and community. We have teen events, family and kid events, and young adult events.
I have been a licensed clinical social worker for over 20 years, a mother of 2, and a part of the LGBTQ+ community. Over the years, I have seen the struggle for trans youth, unique to this generation, surviving during the past several years of anti-trans bills and their existence being a political debate. Their ability to rely on healthcare that is life saving is in turmoil and unstable every day. It is easy for these youth to become isolated and struggle with mental health.
I have seen the joy that experiences with other TIGNC individuals brings, in a safe space where the majority of people are also TIGNC. I have seen other events, such as camps, that are all Transgender, Non-Binary, Intersex or Gender Non Conforming, and the special experience and growth for all involved while being in these unique spaces. Some of these events and camps are located out of the safety that NY State provides in protecting transgender youth.
In working with others who believe the same thing, we have decided to create what we see is so needed. A space for learning and education on how to survive the unprecedented experience of being trans in this time in history and to create a community of support for each other.
We believe that all trans youth should be embraced, celebrated and given a space so they can bloom.
We picked the name due to finding examples in nature where other creatures are also transgender, duel gendered and non-binary. We gravitated toward Jellyfish due to depending on the species have the ability to change gender, be both male and female at the same time, and be asexual. They have survived through 5 extinctions and are all over the world. When many jellyfish are together, it is called a bloom. We felt the similarities parallel the transgender population. We wanted to remind the youth they are survivors, will not be erased and are stronger together.
